As a family of 6 I was beyond stoked when my husband came along to take photos of all of us for this New Hampshire Family Photoshoot. We took turns with the camera! There’s something truly special about photographing your own family. As a photographer, you get to step behind the lens and see your loved ones in a new light, capturing the moments that often slip by in the hustle of daily life. Recently, I had the opportunity to do just that during a family photoshoot in the heart of New Hampshire. My husband tagged along to help for the photos I wanted to be in! We of course couldn’t find our tripod, however we are so in love with the outcome!

New Hampshire, especially in the fall, is the perfect place for family photos. The foliage provides a vibrant backdrop with deep oranges, reds, and yellows, making every picture feel like it’s been touched by magic. For our family photoshoot, we found a spot nestled in the woods, surrounded by rustic stone walls and bathed in the golden afternoon sun. It was the kind of setting that perfectly reflects the season’s warmth and beauty.

The experience of taking photos of my own family was incredibly rewarding. There’s a deeper level of connection when you know every personality in front of the camera—their quirks, their best smiles, and the little moments that define their relationships with each other. Watching my kids laugh together, playfully teasing one another, felt like more than just a photoshoot. It was an opportunity to freeze time, to capture their joy and energy as siblings in a season of life that will inevitably change all too quickly.

As the kids sat together on the stone wall, bundled up in their cozy fall jackets, I couldn’t help but feel grateful. New Hampshire’s autumn landscape complemented their playful spirits perfectly. The natural light, filtered through the trees, highlighted the beautiful chaos that comes with having children—their unfiltered laughter, their wide grins, and those in-between moments that tell a story without needing words.

Sure, we had a few posed shots, but the best pictures always came when the kids were just being themselves.
